This project, titled “Nanyang Girls’ High School 110th Year Interactive Board,” proposes the creation of an interactive miniature escape room to commemorate Nanyang’s 110th Anniversary. The experience combines storytelling, problem-solving, and teamwork to engage students, staff, alumni, and visitors in a meaningful and enjoyable way. Through STEM-related puzzles that unlock different school buildings and sp]aces, participants will explore Nanyang’s history, values, and achievements, fostering a stronger emotional connection to the school while engaging with STEM in a fun and enriching manner.
The project aims to create a memorable experience that highlights Nanyang’s shared heritage and core values of 勤、慎、端、朴, while reinforcing collaboration, creativity, and perseverance. It also serves as a platform for students to showcase innovation, integrate STEM concepts, and demonstrate teamwork, ensuring both the process and final product reflect the spirit, culture, and traditions of Nanyang.

The interactive board is designed as a chronological journey through the Past, Present, and Future of Nanyang Girls’ High School, guiding a figurine through each stage to symbolise the passage of time and a student’s growth. Participants progress by completing a series of STEM-based interactive challenges. Each completed component provides a physical or digital key (such as a code, RFID card activation, or unlocked mechanism) that enables progression to the next stage, ensuring a coherent and sequential experience. The core interaction system across the board is standardised around buttons, sensors, LEDs, RFID readers, and microcontroller-controlled mechanisms, while allowing thematic variation in gameplay.
